The local chapter of ARMA International meets several times a year for breakfast or lunch and a presentation on various issues in the record and information management industry.

In these difficult economic times, many organizations are reducing staff and, as a consequence, losing institutional knowledge.  It is more important than ever to maintain a focus on the information is the lifeblood of the organization.  In facing this challenge, ARMA is a great resource.

Privacy, Security and the Board

Andrew Ysasi, MS, CRM, FIP, CIPM, CIPP, CISM, PMP, IGP is a respected executive who achieved senior roles using a proven business and technology acumen amassed over a 20-year career.  Since 2007 he has provided senior leadership, led complex multimillion-dollar projects, and consulted with small local and multibillion-dollar companies at Kent Record Management, Inc.  Throughout his career, he has conducted scores of presentations on leadership, information governance, records management, cloud computing, business development, privacy, security, project management, and career planning.

Andrew's presentation will address how hardly a week goes by without news of yet another organization's information being compromised. Is cyber-warfare out of control? Have organizations become too complacent in handling data? Is the problem insoluble? Topics discussed were increased data volumes; the prevalence of sensitive, private, and confidential data in the information economy; and how to insert privacy by design, privacy by prescription, and useful data placement strategies in your organization's information lifecycle management program. Learn why your organization's management and the board may (and should) be ready to listen.
